Egypt Daily News – French President Emmanuel Macron stated at the Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur Air Base that Paris will deploy Rafale jets armed with hypersonic nuclear warheads on the border with Germany in 2035. In a speech broadcast by the Élysée Palace on the social media platform X, Macron said: “In 2035, Luxeuil will be the first airbase to deploy a new modification of the Rafale aircraft with hypersonic nuclear warheads.”
Macron emphasized that Europe “must continue to defend, prepare, and acquire nuclear weapons to prevent war.” According to him, France will work on strengthening its nuclear arsenal and increasing Rafale orders.
As reported by the French television channel France 3, France may station around 40 fighter jets at this airbase, gradually replacing the Mirage 2000 aircraft.
In early March, Macron stated in a speech to his citizens that Moscow has become a threat to Paris and Brussels, promising to increase the military budget and proposing a discussion on using French nuclear weapons to protect the entire European Union.
