Egypt Daily News – Israel has warned that a military option may be required to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, emphasizing its reliance on U.S. President Donald Trump to help increase pressure on Tehran.

In a press interview, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated:
“Time is running out as Iran has enriched enough uranium to build two bombs and has been exploring ways to weaponize its enriched nuclear material.”

He stressed that such a development would have a highly destabilizing impact on the Middle East. Sa’ar added: “So, we don’t have much time. The chances of a diplomatic path succeeding with Iran are not high, and failure to stop Iran’s nuclear program would be a disaster for Israel’s security.”

The commander of the Aerospace Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, previously emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is entirely scientific and cannot be eliminated.

He warned that any attack on Iran’s nuclear sites would ignite a large-scale war in the region. In a television interview, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh stated:

“The enemies do not seek war with Iran because it would set the entire region ablaze.”

He emphasized that Operation “True Promise” was carried out in response to Israeli attacks, particularly the strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Hajizadeh revealed that “True Promise” was the largest missile operation in the world, according to Western acknowledgments. He noted that despite Israel’s extensive air defense systems, advanced U.S. warships, and fighter jets, over 75% of Iranian missiles hit their targets accurately.

He also affirmed that Iran continues to enhance its defense capabilities, stating that Iranian missiles now have a range of 2,000 kilometers, with no technical barriers to extending it further. He hinted at a future operation, saying:

“‘True Promise 3’ will be carried out at the appropriate time.” He concluded his remarks by stating: “We assure the Iranian people that war will not happen because the enemies understand the cost of such folly and will not commit it.”

Iran’s Military Operations Against Israel in 2024

In 2024, Iran carried out two military operations against Israel under the names “True Promise 1” and “True Promise 2.”

  • April 2024: Iran launched a massive attack using drones and ballistic missiles on targets inside Israel. This attack was in response to Israel’s strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which killed several senior Iranian military commanders. This marked the first direct confrontation between Iran and Israel.
  • October 1, 2024: Iran executed “True Promise 2,” firing over 250 missiles at Israel, targeting military and security sites. This attack was retaliation for the assassination of key leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah, Ismail Haniyeh, and Abbas Nilforoushan, in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.

Both operations were aimed at responding to Israeli attacks and the targeting of Iranian leaders and their allies in the region.
