Egypt Daily News – Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, met with members of the Egyptian community residing in Tanzania today, Thursday, at the conclusion of his visit to the United Republic of Tanzania. This meeting was part of his regular engagements during foreign tours to directly communicate with the Egyptian expatriate community and understand their conditions.

Minister Abdel Aty expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Egyptian community in Tanzania in strengthening ties between the two countries. He emphasized that Egyptians abroad are the best representatives of their country and highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration to enhance the quality of services provided to Egyptians overseas. He also underscored ongoing initiatives to digitize consular services, aiming to ease burdens on citizens and save time and effort.

The minister shed light on the work undertaken since the integration of the Ministry of Migration and Egyptians Abroad into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last July, particularly regarding issues of concern to Egyptians abroad. These include consular services, military conscription matters, and coordination for students returning from abroad to enroll in Egyptian universities. He also reviewed various programs and initiatives for Egyptians living overseas, particularly economic and investment opportunities in Egypt, as well as initiatives to support the education of expatriate children and preserve cultural and national identity.

Minister Abdel Aty expressed his aspiration to enhance the positive and active role of the Egyptian community in Tanzania, strengthening ties between Egypt and Tanzania on both official and public levels. He encouraged the community’s continued contribution to Egypt’s development and urged young Egyptians in Tanzania to stay engaged with homeland affairs by following the ministry’s social media platforms and participating in related events.

The meeting also addressed issues concerning the Egyptian community in Tanzania, where the minister listened to their opinions and inquiries on various topics. He assured them that the Egyptian government continuously works to overcome any challenges they face and to enhance communication channels through the Egyptian embassy. He welcomed their suggestions regarding consular services and ways to improve them.
