Egypt Daily News – Minister Kamel Al -Wazir, inaugurated the 2 billion pounds El Sewedy for Communications Cables factory, on an area of 70 thousand square meters, which specializes in the field of production of optical fiber cables, copper communications cables, and communications infrastructure accessories.
The total factory investments are 2 billion pounds, and its production volume is 4 million kilometers of optical fiber cables and 200 thousand kilometers of copper communications cables, where the local component percentage is 49.5%, and the factory aims to export 50% of its production abroad and employ 400 workers.
During the visit of the Industrial Complex, El Sewedy in the tenth of Ramadan City, he explained the importance of the experience of the industrial developer as one of the experiences that have proven concrete success in the Egyptian market and a role model in the partnership between the private sector and the government to achieve the state’s targets to deepen local industrialization and increase exports with added value, by providing an integrated package of business development services for the industrial investor that would attract foreign direct investment through planning and assessing the industrial zone, marketing, promoting, managing and operating the region, and facilitating communication with government agencies in the event that the investor requests the developer’s intervention and help him obtain licenses.
He stressed the importance of benefiting from the services of the National Accreditation Council of the Ministry of Industry in the services of the accreditation of laboratories in the El Sewedy company factory, which contributes to facilitating the access of the factory exports to the various international markets recognized by the National Council to accredit as an accreditation authority for the assessment of conformity and laboratories.
He also inspected, the various production lines (copper communication cables manufacturer, the accessory and cable manufacturing line and their incidents, and the fiber optical cable manufacturing line and factory laboratories).
He praised what he witnessed during his visit to the El Sewedy Cable Factory and copper that is used in the field of communications, which was imported until recently from abroad, pointing out that this factory is contracted with Egyptian telecommunications companies to meet their needs of these products in addition to exporting abroad.
