Egypt Daily News – US President Donald Trump revealed that he had spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
When journalists asked Trump on the presidential plane “Air Force One” about the number of times he spoke with Putin, he said: “It is better not to say.” “Putin wants to avoid more deaths,” Trump told the New York Post.
Trump said last Friday that he will meet Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski soon to discuss ending the war. The New York Post commented that Trump said: “I have always had good relations with Putin,” and he had a concrete plan to end the war. But he did not reveal the details.
“I hope this will be achieved quickly. People die every day. This war is very bad in Ukraine. I want to end this dreaded,” Trump added.
For its part, the Kremlin said that he “could not deny or confirm” that US President Donald Trump had spoken to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
“I cannot deny or confirm this news,” Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told CNN. He added that Washington and Moscow speak “through different channels”, “Therefore, there may be something I don’t know,” Peskov said.
