Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called during a government meeting to change the name of Operation “Iron Swords” to “War of Resurrection,” explaining that “this war is existential and the counteroffensive is necessary for the future of the country.”

The Israeli government held a special meeting today, Monday, to mark the anniversary of the events of October 7th. Netanyahu said at the beginning of the meeting that it was a “special mourning meeting.”
Netanyahu requested to change the name of the war from “Operation Iron Swords” to “War of Resurrection,” explaining:

“We are changing the security reality in our region, for our children and our future, and to ensure that what happened on October 7 does not happen again.”

Netanyahu added that he is reiterating what he said at the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the army headquarters after the “Al-Aqsa Toufan” attack: “We are at war, we are not in a military operation, nor in combat rounds, but in a war, and we will respond with a fierce war of a severity the enemy has never known, and we will exact a price from him that he has never witnessed.”

We are at war and we will win it.
Netanyahu said: “Since that day we have been fighting, and this is a war for our existence, a resurrection war, this is how I officially request it to be named.”

He added: “Since that black day, we have been fighting on seven fronts, and our counterattack against our enemies in the Iranian axis is a necessary condition to ensure our future and security.”

Netanyahu would end the war when all the defined goals are completed: eliminating Hamas and returning the hostages home, the living and the dead, thwarting any future threat from Gaza to Israel, and returning the residents of the south and north to their homes.”

He also pointed out that “the Al-Aqsa Toufan was the most severe attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, but unlike the Holocaust, we rose against our enemies and responded with a fierce war.”
