Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, attended the 41st Cultural Symposium.

The symposium, organized by the armed forces, marked celebrations of Martyrs’ and Veterans’ Day. It was held under the title “Noble People”, at Al-Manara International Conference Center, in New Cairo.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said that the symposium featured a number of segments and documentary films showcasing the heroism of the armed forces. President El-Sisi also honored a number of martyrs’ families and veterans injured in combat.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that the President delivered a speech at the conclusion of the symposium. The following is the full text of the speech:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed attendees,

Every year, I feel great happiness to be among you, as we together send a message to the noble martyrs who set an example of sacrifice for the sake of this nation’s survival and the protection of its people’s resources. Their sacrifices clearly reflect this nation’s will throughout history—a will that overcomes all obstacles standing in the way of its security, safety, and leadership. This nation has always had men who achieved the impossible, ensuring Egypt’s resilience in the past and present, strengthening national unity, and making the Egyptian people even more steadfast. May our great people continue to live in peace and security.

It is a fortunate coincidence that this year’s Martyrs’ Day coincides with the 10th of Ramadan, the day on which Egypt fought one of its most honorable battles. The sacrifices made on that day led us to dignity and pride, with a united people and a strong army determined to achieve victory.

Our noble martyrs did not merely give their lives; they secured Egypt’s future. They paved the way for stability and security, which allow us today to continue our journey of development and progress. Thanks to their sacrifices, Egypt has been able to face challenges and move forward with national projects that stand as testimony to the strength of this nation and the determination of its people.

Today, we see the results of these sacrifices in every corner of Egypt, in the new cities being built, and in projects shaping the power of the new republic. None of this would have been possible without the pure blood that was shed to keep this nation safe, stable, and capable of growth and prosperity.

As we honor the memory of our great martyrs today, we reaffirm our commitment to their families, who have not only lost their loved ones but have given the nation their most precious sacrifices. Egypt does not forget its loyal sons and will always stand by them. Our armed forces—our nation’s shield and sword—will remain steadfast against any threat, safeguarding the rights and future of our great people.

Distinguished guests, despite the rapid events unfolding worldwide and the risks that have created a turbulent reality—especially regarding the Palestinian cause—Egypt has always worked to achieve security and peace in the region. Egypt has consistently upheld a firm position: there is no solution to the Palestinian cause except through justice, the establishment of a Palestinian state, and the rejection of any forced displacement of the Palestinian people under any pretext. This stance has been possible due to the awareness of the Egyptian people and their unity behind the leadership, demonstrating sincere intentions and deep patriotism. Allow me to extend my salute to the resilient Palestinian people, reaffirming that we will support them in their struggle for survival and destiny.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Before concluding, I extend my deep appreciation to the Egyptian people and our armed forces for their efforts in past years. We have worked to build the capabilities of this nation—militarily, politically, and economically—allowing us to overcome challenges and confront threats. Despite difficult circumstances, what has been achieved on Egyptian soil has made us stand firm, defend our present, and secure the future of generations to come.

In conclusion, on behalf of the Egyptian people, I extend our utmost respect and gratitude to our noble martyrs and their honorable families for their sacrifices and heroism. I pledge before God that we will continue working to achieve the progress, prosperity, and stability that our beloved Egypt deserves.

Thank you, and may you always be well.

And always, with God’s blessing: “Long live Egypt, long live Egypt, long live Egypt.”

May peace, mercy, and the blessings of God be upon you.
