The President’s speech

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated in celebrations, marking the 73rd anniversary of Police Day. The President laid a wreath on the Memorial of Police Martyrs at the Police Academy in New Cairo. Later, the President presided-over a meeting of the Supreme Council of Police and attended the annual celebration organized by the Ministry of Interior on this occasion. The President granted medals of honor to a number of families of Police martyrs as well as decorations to a number of officers.

During the event, the President delivered the following speech:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful”

Members of the Police authority,

Ladies and gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure, on the 73rd anniversary of the Egyptian Police Day, to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian police, women and men alike, who resolutely stand as the vanguard of internal security, safeguarding the security and stability of our cherished homeland. They constitute an invincible bulwark against all security threats and perils that endanger the sacred soil of Egypt and its noble people.

On this momentous occasion, we offer our most esteemed greetings to the martyrs of the Egyptian police, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their homeland. Their pure blood serves as an eternal testament to their extraordinary bravery and courage in the face of enemies and terrorists, the enemies of the nation and religion.

Those heroes have left an honorable and enduring legacy that fills our hearts with boundless pride and sublime honor. Acknowledging this, the Egyptian State, with all its institutions, remains steadfast in its unyielding support for the families of our heroes. I consider their children and families to be part of my extended family, bound by our sacred covenant to provide them with all forms of support and care in every aspect of their lives to honor the sacrifices of our fallen heroes.

Let me assure you that no matter what we do, we can never compensate for the loss of our martyrs. We can only try to stand by their families during this difficult time and strive to build a life that honors their memory. We will never forget our martyrs or their families.

Brothers and sisters,

This year’s celebration comes as the world, and our region in particular, is grappling with unprecedented conflicts and challenges, ravaging nations and devastating the resources of their peoples. However, by the Grace of Allah the Almighty, and thanks to the vigorous efforts of our Armed Forces and Police, our nation will stand robust, undeterred by the current turmoil. As it has always been throughout history, Egypt shall forever be a beacon of peace and security in the region.

Millions from other nationalities have chosen Egypt as their safe haven, inspired by the Qur’anic verse “Enter Egypt, Allah Willing, in security”. Egypt currently hosts over 9 million guests. As our honored guests, Egypt is extending the same services enjoyed by its own citizens, driven by our dedication to the principles of tolerance enshrined in our religious teachings and our respect to the Egyptian legal system.

Guided by its historical responsibility, regional status and international commitments, Egypt decisively mobilizes all its efforts to discard violence and actively strives to promote peace.

The ceasefire agreement achieved in the Gaza Strip stands as a demonstrable testament to the tireless efforts and persistent endeavors exerted by Egypt, in coordination with its partners.

We are absolutely committed to working diligently toward the full implementation of this agreement, to end the bloodshed of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, restore essential services to the Gaza Strip to make it habitable, while resolutely preventing any attempts at displacement due to these difficult circumstances. This is a matter that Egypt categorically rejects in order to uphold the very existence of the Palestinian cause.

The great people of Egypt,

Extremism, with its hideous face and unveiled hues, will find no fertile ground or tolerance in Egypt. Standing united is our most formidable shield against it. Any endeavors to sow discord among us are destined to fail, by the Grace of Allah.

The Egyptian people proudly embrace moderation and categorically condemn extremisms in all its abhorrent manifestations. They take pride in their deep-rooted national identity.

The desperate attempts of our enemies to spread destructive ideologies and disseminate malicious rumors are futile and will ultimately fall silent. Experience has unequivocally demonstrated that the vigilance of our armed forces and police, coupled with the awareness and unity of the citizens, has formed an unassailable fortress against these insidious plots.

In our celebration today, I want to assure the resilient Egyptian people that the Egyptian State is firmly on the right path, despite all challenges we encounter. This path requires that we all work faithfully together toward elevating our nation and reinstating it to its rightful place. We are working, in earnest, to take further steps to empower the private sector and improve the living standards of the Egyptians citizens.

We reiterate our unshakeable determination and resolute will to overcome all challenges to build a brighter future for our believed Egypt and provide a dignified life for its people. We will achieve this by safeguarding, developing and leveraging our nation’s resources, and by making wise decisions that will always uphold the supreme interest of our cherished Egypt.

Finally, once again I congratulate the members of the Police authority on the occasion of Police Day. I assure you that Egypt is eternally grateful for your dedicated service in protecting our security, ensuring our safety and upholding the rule of law for everyone living on the land of Egypt to feel safe and sound.

May Allah bless you all

Many Happy returns

Always and forever

Long Live Egypt
