Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi left the Spanish capital, Madrid, heading to Saudi Arabia, concluding his official visit to the Kingdom of Spain.
Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, stated that the presidential visit to Spain included extensive, in-depth discussions on regional issues of mutual concern, with the situation in Gaza being a key topic. He emphasized that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi presented a comprehensive overview of Egypt’s vision regarding the situation in Gaza, particularly the reconstruction efforts without the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
In a special interview on Extra News, Abdel Aty explained that discussions between the Egyptian delegation and the Spanish side covered governance and security in Gaza, as well as the need to establish a credible political process leading to the creation of a Palestinian state. He stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state is the only guarantee for security and stability in the region.
Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi will meet in Riyadh on Friday for an “informal fraternal gathering.”
Purpose of the Meeting
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the meeting is part of a series of friendly discussions that have been held periodically for years.
The Egyptian presidency confirmed that President el-Sisi traveled to Saudi Arabia after concluding his visit to Spain. His visit is expected to focus on Gaza’s reconstruction amid reports of a U.S. proposal to resettle displaced Gazans in Egypt and Jordan, a plan that has been met with strong regional opposition.
