Macron and Sisi Egypt economic conference

The Presidency – Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron participated in the closing session of the Egyptian-French Economic Forum, held in Cairo as part of the French President’s high-level official visit to Egypt.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the forum titled “Testimonies and Visions on the French-Egyptian Partnership,” saw the participation of a large number of Egyptian and French companies specializing in various fields, including health, new energy, green hydrogen, Artificial Intelligence, technology, among other areas of common interest.

President El-Sisi welcomed President Macron and expressed his appreciation for his efforts to support and develop relations between the two countries, stressing that Egypt is keen to benefit from French expertise and companies.

The President noted that investing in Egypt is a favorable opportunity for French businessmen and companies due to the significant efforts made over the past ten years in infrastructure and basic services. This is in addition to the economic reform process and free trade agreements concluded by Egypt within the African and Arab frameworks. Moreover, Egypt has an enormous potential and workforce, given that 60% of the Egyptian population is under the age of 40.

The President emphasized the importance of establishing partnerships between the Egyptian and French sides in various fields and underscored the necessity of industry localization in Egypt. The President also noted the state’s commitment to removing any obstacles facing French investors and elevating Egyptian-French relations to broader horizons that meet the aspirations of the two peoples.
