President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has issued a presidential decree formally ending the second ordinary session of the House of Representatives under its second legislative term.
According to Presidential Decree No. 11 of 2026, the sixth ordinary session of the second legislative chapter of parliament has been adjourned following a review of the Egyptian Constitution and the House of Representatives’ internal bylaws issued under Law No. 1 of 2016. The decision was taken after receiving the approval of parliament.
The decree stipulates that the session will be officially concluded as of Thursday, 19 Rajab 1447 AH, corresponding to January 8, 2026.
The second article of the decree mandates that the decision be published in the Official Gazette, in line with constitutional and legal requirements governing parliamentary procedures.
The move marks the formal close of the legislative session, during which the House of Representatives debated and passed a range of laws related to economic reform, social policy, and state governance, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary agenda.
