Egypt Daily News – The Israeli army announced on Wednesday the launch of a “limited ground operation” in the Gaza Strip, following a series of airstrikes at an unprecedented scale since the ceasefire began in January. The death toll in Gaza rises to 970 in two days, and the United Nations confirms the killing of one of its employees

The death toll from Israeli strikes in Gaza has risen by an additional 970 people within 48 hours, according to the Ministry of Health on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for Project Services reported that one of its employees was killed due to the use of “explosive ammunition” in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.

Politically, Hamas stated on Wednesday that it has not closed the door to negotiations despite the intense Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since Tuesday. The group called on mediators to pressure Tel Aviv to implement the ceasefire agreement.
