Egypt Daily News – Turkish media reported from private sources that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled to visit the Turkish capital, Ankara, on September 4.
Ankara announced that the Egyptian President would be received at the Presidential Palace by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On the sidelines of the visit, a new version of the (High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council) meeting between Turkey and Egypt will be held under the chairmanship of Erdogan and Sisi.
This visit comes as Türkiye continues what it describes as “its diplomacy regarding Gaza.” Developments in the Gaza Strip will be on the main agenda of the visit and talks. “Joint steps that can be taken to stop Israeli attacks, ensure a ceasefire in the region, and prosecute the Netanyahu government will be discussed.”
During the talks, the two presidents will also discuss other regional issues besides Palestine, such as developments in Libya, Sudan and Somalia, and bilateral relations between the two countries will also be discussed.
This visit will be the first visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Turkey, and during the visit, bilateral agreements will be signed in many fields,
The steps to be taken to achieve the new goal in the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries will also be discussed, to reach $15 billion, instead of the current figure of $10 billion.
It is expected that President Sisi will be accompanied to Türkiye by prominent Egyptian names from the business world.
During the discussion of bilateral relations, the focus will be on developing cooperation in the fields of: energy, especially liquefied natural gas, renewable energy and mining, and cooperation in the fields of health, tourism and defense.
Efforts to increase cooperation between universities in the two countries, and studies in the field of media and communication, will also be discussed.
A new page was opened in relations between Turkey and Egypt, with the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on February 14 of this year 2024, which was his first visit to Egypt in 12 years.
The Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen, had announced that agreements would be signed between Egypt and Turkey, covering trade, economic, cultural, and health aspects.
He explained, in a press statement, that under the leadership of both Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, relations between the two countries continue to develop, covering all fields from economy to culture, from tourism to industry, and from education to health.
