Egypt Daily News – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty issued urgent directives from the Minister of Foreign Affairs issues to Cairo’s ambassadors abroad and has instructed Egypt’s ambassadors to work on several key issues and intensify communications in their respective countries of accreditation to serve Egypt’s foreign policy priorities.
On Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration held a virtual meeting with Egypt’s ambassadors abroad as part of regular meetings to assess the implementation of foreign policy priorities and monitor the work progress in embassies.
The urgent directives emphasized the importance of prioritizing national interests and strengthening diplomatic engagements in host countries to support Egypt’s foreign policy objectives. He stressed that the current regional and international circumstances require intensified efforts to safeguard Egypt’s interests.
The minister highlighted the necessity of “mobilizing the necessary support for Egyptian nominations in various regional and international forums,” particularly in Egypt’s bid for the position of UNESCO Director-General, for which the country is actively seeking international backing.
He also directed ambassadors to focus on supporting the national economy and development efforts by attracting foreign investments, enhancing trade exchanges, showcasing investment opportunities across different sectors, and increasing the access of Egyptian exports to global markets.
Abdel Aty underscored the importance of highlighting the measures taken by the Egyptian government to improve the business environment and support the role of the private sector in the national economy.
He stressed the need to continue prioritizing the Egyptian communities abroad, ensuring the best level of consular services for Egyptian citizens. He also emphasized efforts to accelerate digital transformation to enhance consular services and transactions for Egyptians living overseas.
The minister called for maintaining regular meetings with Egyptian expatriates to understand their concerns and needs while informing them about state initiatives aimed at supporting Egyptians abroad.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in the work of embassies by promoting cultural activities and events in host countries to showcase Egypt’s soft power and boost international tourism to Egypt
