Egypt Daily News – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced that all Egyptian pilgrims traveling through tourism companies have arrived safely in the Holy Lands of Saudi Arabia to perform the Haj rituals for the year 1446 AH. A total of 40,672 Egyptian tourism pilgrims reached their destinations via carefully organized air and land trips, conducted under strict procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.
Samia Sami, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Companies Affairs, Head of the Egyptian Tourism Hajj Mission, and Chair of the Higher Committee for Haj and Umrah, stated that this year’s season included 421 flights carrying approximately 33,172 pilgrims from both the economic and five-star tiers. Additionally, 180 tourist buses transported around 7,500 land-route pilgrims, reflecting the diversity of tourism Hajj programs designed to meet various citizen needs.
She added that the ministry’s field committees, stationed in Mecca and Medina, have been monitoring the safe arrival of all tourism pilgrims around the clock. These teams supervised accommodation arrangements based on approved contracts and responded immediately to any complaints or inquiries to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction and comfort for the pilgrims.
She emphasized the ministry’s commitment—under the directives of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, to prioritizing the safety and well-being of pilgrims. Continuous coordination with the Saudi authorities and all relevant bodies is underway to ensure smooth performance of the Hajj rituals and to deliver services that meet pilgrims’ expectations.
These efforts align with the ministry’s goals to organize a distinguished Hajj season, characterized by professionalism and discipline, reinforcing the status of tourism Hajj as one of the most successful models for organizing pilgrim travel for Egyptian citizens.
It’s worth noting that the last tourism Haj flight of the season arrived in Saudi Arabia two days ago, carrying 116 pilgrims. The final land convoy arrived last Thursday, comprising 8 buses with 313 pilgrims.
