Israel strikes the Lebanon Syria Road

Egypt Daily News – The Israeli army carried out an operation on the Lebanese-Syrian border on Thursday, targeting an “underground tunnel” to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Lebanon.

This operation was executed by Unit 4400, responsible for intercepting arms transfers from Iran to Hezbollah. In addition to the tunnel strike, the Israeli forces also targeted infrastructure sites near the Masnaa border crossing.

Following the airstrike, a Lebanese official reported that traffic was halted in both directions near the crossing, with Public Works Minister Ali Hamie confirming that the raid destroyed the road leading to the Masnaa crossing, effectively cutting off the checkpoint.

The Masnaa border crossing is a crucial link between Lebanon and Syria, situated on the main highway connecting Beirut and Damascus, and has been heavily used by people fleeing Israeli bombardments in recent days.
