He stressed Egypt’s firm and supportive position of the Syrian state and the importance of respecting its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and pointed out the extreme importance of protecting civilians.
The Minister also stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to stop the escalation and work to calm the situation so that the situation does not deteriorate in a way that threatens regional and international security and stability, reiterating Egypt’s complete rejection of inciting sectarian strife or harming the sovereignty of countries and the unity and integrity of their territories.
