Egypt Daily News – The Al-Ahly Club football team tied against Orlando Pirates of South Africa, in a goaless game, at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, within the second round of the third group competitions of the group stage of the African Champions League.
The players of both teams focused on performing defensive tasks and closing spaces in the defensive areas with instructions from the technical staff, so the first half ended in a goalless draw.
One chance in the first half of the match between Al-Ahly and Orlando Pirates
The first half did not witness any shots on goal by either team, except for one ball that came in the 35th minute. The Orlando player shot it and it collided with Marwan Attia’s feet and went into El-Shenawy’s goal, who kept it away with his fingertips.
In the 42nd minute, Mohamed El-Shenawy fell due to his injury after blocking a strong ball from the Orlando club midfielder that came on the left side of the goal, before the goalkeeper returned again after being examined by Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team doctor.
Akram Tawfiq almost scored the first goal in the 62nd minute, after the ball reached Imam Ashour, who passed it to Akram Tawfiq, but he placed it next to the post.
Pressure from Orlando and Mohamed El-Shenawy shines
Orlando FC pressed in the second half, and almost took the lead in the 56th minute, after a shot from Patrice Makgoba, had Mohamed El-Shenawy not blocked the ball twice, before Al-Ahly’s goalkeeper saved a second chance in the 62nd minute with a header from the Orlando player.
In the 63rd minute, Kohler made two substitutions, with Percy Tau and Mohamed Magdy Afsha replacing Wissam Abu Ali and Imam Ashour, respectively.
In the 82nd minute, Hussein Al-Shahat came on as a substitute for Reda Selim, and two minutes later he took a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, which was blocked by the South African team’s goalkeeper.
The negative performance between Al-Ahly and Orlando Pirates continued, without any threat to any of the goalkeepers, as the players suffered from high temperatures, so the match ended in a goalless draw.

Al-Ahly raised its score to the fourth point at the top of Group C on goal difference from Orlando Pirates.
