An Egyptian worker from Dakahlia Governorate has been killed in southern Lebanon after a strike hit the agricultural site where he was working, according to family members and Lebanese media reports.
The victim, identified as Islam Said Sadek, was killed along with three other workers when the farm in southern Lebanon came under fire.
Long-Term Worker Abroad
Family sources said the 30-something Egyptian had been working in Lebanon for around 12 years in banana farms, where he lived in on-site worker accommodation.
He was the sole son among three sisters and was married with two young daughters, aged six and eight.
Relatives said his final phone call with his family took place only hours before the incident, during which he reassured them about his situation and his children.
Incident Details
According to Lebanese reports, the strike targeted an agricultural area in the Tyre region, killing an Egyptian national and two Syrian workers.
Additional strikes in nearby areas were also reported, with multiple casualties confirmed by local emergency teams.
The Lebanese Red Cross and army units were involved in recovering bodies from the affected sites.
Repatriation Underway
Authorities are currently completing procedures to repatriate the body to Egypt for burial in his hometown in Dakahlia.
The family is awaiting the arrival of the remains before announcing funeral arrangements.
