Egypt Daily News – The Israeli army announced that it had detected a missile launched from Yemen, noting that it attempted to intercept it and that the results of the operation are being examined.
Circulated footage captured the moment Israelis fled after sirens were activated due to the Yemeni attack.
Later, Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army spokesperson, said in a statement on the platform “X” on Sunday that the operation involved the launch of a single missile from Yemen and that it was intercepted, adding: “It appears that the interception attempts were successful.”
The Yemeni missile caused a temporary halt in air traffic at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, which was later resumed.
The Yemeni group “Ansar Allah” continues to launch missiles and drones targeting sites in Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are facing an Israeli war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians—most of them women and children—and caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
“Ansar Allah” has affirmed that it will not stop attacking Israel or targeting ships affiliated with it or with the United States and its allies in the Red Sea until the war in Gaza ends—a stance that has been met by repeated U.S. airstrikes on various sites in areas controlled by the group.
