Egypt Daily News – The Israeli Minister of Communications, Shlomo Karhi, emphasized on Tuesday the necessity to “halt aid, cut off electricity and water to the Gaza Strip, and use force until the hostages are returned,” as he stated.
Karhi, via his account on the “X” platform, said: “The response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal should be the immediate implementation of a plan to displace the population from the Gaza Strip,” adding: “It is time to open the gates of hell on Hamas without any restrictions.”
Earlier, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced the postponement of the handover of Israeli captives who were scheduled to be released next Saturday, until further notice, due to “Israel’s violation of the terms of the truce agreement.”
The spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades stated in a statement: “Over the past three weeks, the resistance leadership has monitored the enemy’s violations and failure to adhere to the terms of the agreement, including delaying the return of displaced persons to the northern Gaza Strip, targeting them with shelling and gunfire in various areas of the Strip, and failing to bring in relief materials of all forms as agreed upon. Meanwhile, the resistance has fulfilled all its obligations.”
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump said that if all Israeli detainees in Gaza are not released by noon next Saturday, he will propose canceling the ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Strip and allowing “the gates of hell to open wide.”
U.S. President Donald Trump described Hamas’ threat to delay the release of Israeli detainees as “horrific,” warning the Palestinian movement of “real hell” if “everyone (the detainees) is not returned by noon next Saturday.”
It is worth noting that the Gaza ceasefire agreement entered its first phase, which lasts for six weeks (42 days), on Sunday, January 19. The agreement stipulates the release of 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for Israel’s release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including those serving high and life sentences.
