Medvedev warns end of times

Egypt Daily News – Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, has issued a stark warning regarding the current imbalance in global politics, suggesting it could lead to total war and potentially annihilate humanity.

In a post on his official Telegram channel, he referenced a quote from Russian poet Fyodor Tyutchev, emphasizing the historical impossibility of a genuine alliance between Russia and the West, rooted in mutual interests or principles.

Medvedev posits that the West’s motivations inherently oppose Russia’s interests, underscoring an enduring strategy for Russia: to fracture and isolate Western powers rather than seek alliances with them.

He reflects on the enduring nature of this geopolitical dynamic over the past 160 years, asserting that the goal remains to weaken the West, particularly Europe, a task he claims the United States inadvertently assists.

Medvedev suggests the need for a new balance of power similar to that of the Soviet era, citing organizations like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, as well as fostering relationships with Global South nations as potential frameworks for achieving this balance.

Medvedev concludes with a dire prediction about the consequences of failing to establish this balance, asserting that a world devoid of it may not endure a decade and warning that the repercussions would not yield victory for any side but rather mutual destruction.

This reflects a broader narrative of confrontation and mistrust between Russia and the West, emphasizing the need for strategic realignment.
