Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President El-Sisi expressed his deep appreciation for the significant development of relations between Egypt and France, particularly after their elevation to the level of strategic partnership during the French president’s visit to Cairo in April 2025. This has positively impacted the growth of cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

The two presidents discussed ways to further advance bilateral relations by enhancing political, economic, and investment cooperation, increasing trade, which has witnessed substantial progress in the past months, and boosting cooperation in the sectors of industry tourism, and transportation.

The call also touched on the latest regional developments, particularly in the Gaza Strip. President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for France’s support of Egypt’s efforts that led to an agreement to stop the war, emphasizing the need to underpin the ceasefire and implement the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan. The President stressed the importance of enhancing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and immediately commencing the early recovery and reconstruction phase.

President Macron expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s key role in achieving regional stability, particularly in the underpinning of the agreement to stop the war in Gaza. The call also addressed developments in the West Bank. The President reiterated Egypt’s categorical rejection of the Israeli violations and emphasized the need to support the Palestinian people, increase international pressure to halt these violations, and support the Palestinian Authority in fulfilling its obligations to its people.

The two presidents agreed that current efforts should lead to the launch of a comprehensive political process culminating in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Regarding the situation in Sudan, President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan, and its rejection of any attempts to threaten its security.
