Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that what has happened since October 7, 2023 has exceeded all international and humanitarian borders and rules.

He noted that the number of Palestinian deaths exceeded 45,000 martyrs, the majority of whom were women and children, pointing out that more than 107,000 others were injured.

He pointed out that “the number of displaced people reached 1.9 million people,” noting that “Israeli violations extended to include international employees who died while performing their work. and that more than 70% of the infrastructure in Gaza was destroyed,” adding that poverty, unemployment and hunger rates recorded catastrophic numbers ranging from 80% to 100%.

Today, Thursday, Cairo will host the 11th edition of the Organization of Eight Islamic Cooperation (D8) summit, which will discuss ways to confront the successive global economic and political changes.

The summit was held under the slogan: “Investing in youth and supporting small and medium enterprises: shaping the economy of tomorrow.”

Egypt is chaired the current version of the summit, as it assumed the presidency of the group last May, and will continue to lead its work until the end of next year.

Several bilateral summits and meetings are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the D8 summit in Cairo, whether at the level of presidents or delegations participating in the conference.
