Egypt Daily News – A Russian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for talks with a U.S. delegation. The meetings are part of efforts to improve diplomatic relations and engage in bilateral discussions on various issues. This visit comes amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions and is seen as a significant step in fostering dialogue between Russia and the U.S.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated in an interview that the main goal of their visit is to initiate discussions with the U.S. delegation. The primary focus is on enhancing dialogue between the two nations, addressing various global issues, and exploring ways to improve relations. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the Russian delegation’s visit to Saudi Arabia is exclusively for bilateral talks with U.S. representatives, with no plans for a trilateral discussion. The meeting is expected to take place on Tuesday.

They will discuss the restoration of bilateral relations, preparations for a potential summit between the two leaders, and negotiations concerning the situation in Ukraine. U.S. officials attending include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
