Egypt Daily News – Brian Lanza, a former advisor on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, suggested that the incoming Trump administration views peace in Ukraine as not contingent on the restoration of territories lost to Russia.
He expressed this perspective in an interview with the BBC, implying that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists on regaining regions like the Crimean Peninsula as a condition for peace, it would indicate a lack of seriousness on Ukraine’s part regarding negotiations.
However, this assertion was quickly clarified by a spokesperson for Trump’s transition team, who emphasized that Lanza is no longer affiliated with the president-elect’s team and does not represent his views.
This indicates a potential divergence between Lanza’s remarks and the official stance of Trump’s incoming administration on the Ukraine conflict.
