Egypt Daily News – Volodymyr Zelensky has approved the formation of the Ukrainian delegation “to engage with international partners” for peace talks. A decree published on the website of Zelensky’s office stated: “The Ukrainian delegation for engaging with Ukraine’s international partners to ensure the negotiation process for a just peace will include the head of Zelensky’s office, Andriy Yermak, his deputy, Pavlo Palytsa, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.”
The decree states that the delegation will be led by Yermak and, in coordination with Ukraine’s foreign minister, has the authority to modify its composition. It may include government officials, company representatives, institutions, organizations, advisors, and scientific experts to ensure the delegation’s effective functioning.
The same Ukrainian delegation participated in a meeting with American diplomats in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on March 11.
The talks, held last Tuesday between the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations in Jeddah, lasted approximately 9.5 hours.
As a result of the discussions, a joint statement was released, stating that Ukraine is willing to accept the U.S. proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. In response, Washington would immediately lift restrictions on intelligence-sharing and resume assistance to Kyiv.
The statement also mentioned that both sides agreed to finalize a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible for the extraction of critical mineral resources to strengthen Ukraine’s economy.
From the Ukrainian side, the meeting included Zelensky’s Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. On the U.S. side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz participated.
