Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that Israel has received the amendments proposed by Hamas to the Qatari-mediated ceasefire initiative, but deemed them “unacceptable.”
According to the statement, an Israeli negotiating team is scheduled to travel to Qatar on Sunday to continue discussions. The delegation reportedly includes representatives from the Mossad intelligence agency, the Shin Bet internal security service, the military’s hostage affairs coordinator, and Netanyahu’s political adviser.
Hamas had submitted three key amendments to the ceasefire framework. These include an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza, a withdrawal of Israeli forces to their positions prior to the collapse of the previous truce in March, and U.S. guarantees to prevent the resumption of Israeli airstrikes if no permanent agreement is reached once the temporary ceasefire ends.
Hamas has described its response as “positive,” signaling its willingness to enter a new round of negotiations focused on implementing the agreement.
The renewed diplomatic push comes amid heightened international pressure to reach a ceasefire and alleviate the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, following weeks of intensified fighting.
Israeli media reported that the new round of indirect talks in Doha aims to address both a potential prisoner exchange deal and the reestablishment of a ceasefire with Hamas.
