President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stated that former U.S. President Donald Trump has the ability to stop the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, expressing hope that this will happen as soon as possible.
During a meeting with students at the Egyptian Military Academy, which was broadcast by Extra News, President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of young people maintaining their health, awareness, and values, stressing that humanity’s purpose in life is to build and develop the earth.
He added: “Rest assured… I have full confidence that the justice of our position is always supported by God’s protection and generosity.” He called on Egyptians to trust the state’s ability to overcome the current challenges.
President El-Sisi: Public Awareness Is the Foundation of National Strength
The president highlighted the crucial role of national awareness in confronting both internal and external challenges affecting Egypt’s future. He explained that the country is going through a critical phase that requires everyone to understand the concept of the state and appreciate the responsibility of caring for 120 million citizens.
He warned that any misjudgment could lead Egypt into a dangerous unknown, reminding people that Egypt is not isolated but influenced by global factors. He stressed the need for every citizen to be mindful of their actions, saying, “Any uncalculated move could endanger future generations.”
He also underlined that all Egyptians are equal in rights and responsibilities, regardless of background or position.
President El-Sisi further discussed how public awareness has developed due to political and social crises since 2011, saying these were true tests of the Egyptian people’s resilience. “Egypt has no other resource to rely on except the strength and awareness of its people,” he said.
On National Unity and Shared Responsibility
The president stressed the need for all Egyptians to work together for the sake of the nation, clarifying that this is not about him or any individual. “It’s not about me or you, it’s about all of us. We are all equal in responsibility; no one in this country has more or less than anyone else.”
On Gaza and Egyptian National Security
Commenting on the war in Gaza, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to ending the conflict and delivering humanitarian aid. However, he firmly rejected any suggestion that Egypt should jeopardize the safety of its citizens to force aid into Gaza.
He stated: “No one should ask me to gamble with the lives of Egyptians just to deliver aid to Gaza.” He explained that Egypt is making every possible effort to stop the war and bring in aid but will not do so in a way that endangers national security. “I won’t risk the lives of Egyptians don’t ask me to enter a conflict to force aid delivery,” he said.
On the Economy and the Path Forward
President El-Sisi noted that Egypt’s economic conditions are improving and emphasized that real change comes through determination, hard work, and patience.
He assured the public that security is stable and highlighted the importance of public awareness as the key factor in navigating regional instability. “The level of awareness and understanding among Egyptians reassures me that’s our real bet amid current regional tensions,” he said.
He concluded by saying that the challenges surrounding Egypt require a united people who fully understand what’s at stake, and that public awareness is Egypt’s first line of defense against any threat.
