Egypt Daily News – France is preparing to announce total investments of 109 billion euros (113 billion dollars) in artificial intelligence projects inside the country, with funding from companies, investment funds and other sources in the coming years, according to President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement on the eve of the two -day artificial intelligence summit in Paris .

In an interview with “France 2” TV on Sunday, Macron indicated an investment that was previously announced ranging between 30 and 50 billion euros to create a new headquarters for data centers in France by a fund from the Emirates.

The French President also spoke about new funding from American and Canadian funds. Brookfield Asset Management announced on Sunday its plans to invest 20 billion euros to develop data centers and infrastructure for artificial intelligence in France over the next five years.

Macron also mentioned expected investments from French companies such as “Iliad SA”, “Orange SA” and “Thales SA”.

The importance of artificial intelligence for Europe and France
Macron likened the total of these investments, in size, with Donald Trump’s announcement of the “Stargate” project, an initiative that includes a number of the largest American technology companies, and plans to spend $ 500 billion on artificial intelligence infrastructure during the next four years.

Macron’s comments came before the start of the summit that brings together heads of state and governments, including the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, in addition to business leaders such as clouds Fawry, CEO of “Airbus”.

In the same way, which strengthened the appearance of the Chinese low -cost “DeepSeek”, China’s position in the scene of artificial intelligence, Macron said that France and Europe need to move quickly if they wanted to stay in competition.

Macron added: “The first battle for Europeans is investment, then investment, then investment. If we impose legislation before innovation, we will not have any innovation, and people will say: We have great legislation in Europe, but we do not have one player in this field.”
