Egypt on Wednesday strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting Kuwait International Airport, describing the strike as a serious violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens stability across the Gulf region.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Cairo denounced what it called an “aggressive attack” on the airport that resulted in casualties and significant damage to civilian infrastructure, warning that such actions risk widening tensions at a time of growing regional instability.

The Egyptian government expressed its full solidarity with Kuwait and affirmed its support for all measures taken by the Gulf state to safeguard its national security, protect its territory and secure critical facilities.

Cairo Backs Kuwait Following Airport Attack

Egypt said it stands firmly alongside the Kuwaiti government and people in the aftermath of the attack, emphasizing the strong ties between the two Arab nations.

The statement underscored Cairo’s rejection of attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

The condemnation comes amid escalating tensions in the Gulf following a series of military exchanges involving Iran, the United States and several regional countries, raising concerns about a broader deterioration in regional security.

Gulf Security Linked to Arab National Security

Egypt reiterated its long-standing position that the security and stability of Gulf countries form an integral part of Arab national security.

The Foreign Ministry warned against any actions that undermine state sovereignty or threaten the safety and stability of countries in the region, arguing that continued escalation could have consequences extending far beyond the immediate parties involved.

Cairo also renewed calls for preserving regional stability and avoiding steps that could further inflame tensions across the Middle East.

Growing Regional Concerns

The Egyptian statement reflects increasing concern among Arab governments over the potential expansion of the ongoing confrontation in the Gulf.

Officials fear that attacks on strategic infrastructure and transportation facilities could further destabilize the region, disrupt economic activity and increase security risks for neighboring states.

By issuing one of its strongest condemnations since the latest escalation began, Egypt signaled its support for Kuwait while reaffirming its broader position against violations of state sovereignty and threats to regional stability.

The latest statement also highlights Cairo’s continued emphasis on protecting Gulf security as a core component of collective Arab security amid a rapidly evolving regional crisis.
