Egypt Daily News – Israel has fully withdrawn its negotiating delegation from Doha, where indirect talks with the Palestinian group Hamas were being held under international mediation, aimed at reaching a new prisoner exchange agreement.

According to Israel’s Channel 13, the decision to pull out came in response to the ongoing deadlock in the negotiations.

The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom reported that the move was made directly by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who ordered all members of the delegation to return to Tel Aviv.

Earlier, Netanyahu’s office stated that Israel had accepted a proposal put forward by U.S. envoy Steve Wietkopf, which outlined mechanisms for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. However, the statement noted that Hamas continued to reject the offer, maintaining its position without change.

Meanwhile, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi issued a warning to Hamas, stating that the group now has only one option: to release the hostages.

The collapse of the Doha talks adds further strain to efforts by mediators from the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt, who have been working for months to secure a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian relief in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict.
