Egypt Daily News – Houthis in Yemen have announced that the number of casualties from a U.S. airstrike targeting a ceramic factory on the outskirts of Sanaa has risen to 36, most of whom are civilians.

Youssef Al-Hadhari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in the Houthi-led government, stated that “the U.S. aggression airstrike on the Al-Sawari Ceramic Factory resulted in six martyrs and 30 wounded, most of them civilians working in the factory, nearby homes, and a neighboring farm.”

Among the injured, he added, are five children and one woman.

The Houthi-run Ministry of Health condemned what it called “the American aggression against Yemen and its direct targeting of civilian sites and civilians.”

According to Al-Hadhari, “the number of casualties from U.S. airstrikes on Yemen since March 16 until today, Monday, has reached 370, including 123 deaths, most of whom are civilians.”

On Sunday night, the United States reportedly carried out three airstrikes targeting the Al-Sawari Ceramic Factory in the Al-Yetmah area in Bani Matar District, west of Sanaa, according to Houthi officials and eyewitnesses.

The U.S. Central Command has not issued any statements regarding this strike.

Following the airstrike, the Houthis released two separate statements claiming responsibility for missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets, and for shooting down a U.S. MQ-9 reconnaissance drone in Hajjah province in northern Yemen — the fourth such drone downed in two weeks.

Military operations between the United States and the Houthis have intensified since mid-March, after the group announced the resumption of its ban on Israeli-linked ships crossing the Red Sea and Arabian Sea in what they described as “support for Palestinians in Gaza.”
