Egypt Daily News – The Arab Tourism Organization has officially selected New Alamein City as the Arab Summer Capital for 2025, after the city met the organization’s comprehensive criteria. These include effective administrative and organizational management, infrastructure quality, recreational resources, environmental protection, safety, health standards, responsiveness to tourism trends, and performance evaluation metrics.
This recognition reflects the city’s rapid urban and tourism development, its unique natural features, modern infrastructure, and integrated tourism services, positioning New Alamein as a leading coastal destination in the Arab region.
The designation also reinforces New Alamein’s rising status as one of Egypt’s and the Arab world’s most prominent tourist hubs, thanks to its diverse entertainment and cultural offerings, international-standard hotels, and ability to host major summer events and festivals.
Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, expressed pride in the honor, noting that the selection reflects Egypt’s broader efforts to develop its coastal cities through a vision that combines sustainable development with high-end tourism.
He added that the ministry, in collaboration with other relevant authorities, will organize a rich program of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events throughout 2025 in celebration of the title. These efforts aim to boost tourism activity and enhance service quality for visitors from across the Arab world.
It is worth noting that the Arab Tourism Organization awards this title annually to one Arab city that excels in beach and summer tourism, encouraging healthy competition and the exchange of best practices among Arab cities. Past recipients of the title have seen a noticeable increase in tourist numbers compared to previous years.
