Egypt Daily News – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is preparing to close the doors of the Grand Egyptian Museum and halt visits starting seven days from now, in preparation for its official opening next July.

The grand opening of the museum will be attended by many kings and presidents from around the world, as it is considered the largest global cultural event at this time. The celebration will last several days, with official invitations already sent out to various heads of state and royalty.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is overseeing a series of organizational and logistical operations inside the museum to ensure that all preparations meet the highest international standards.

There is intense activity within the Grand Egyptian Museum and its surrounding area to complete all preparations for the inauguration ceremony. Various teams are meticulously working on artistic and logistical preparations, as well as putting the final touches on the museum’s interior and exterior designs, all reflecting full readiness for the major event.

The grand opening is scheduled for July 3, just 25 days from now, and will be attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi along with leaders and royals from different countries around the world.

Preparations are in full swing, both inside the museum and around its grounds. As part of the final preparations for the official opening, the museum will temporarily close from June 15 to July 5. During this period, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities will carry out key logistical and organizational work inside the museum.

The Grand Egyptian Museum will officially open its doors soon, with daily visiting hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, confirmed that the museum will reopen to the public after the official inauguration, with visitors able to enjoy a full tourism experience during official working hours.

It’s worth noting that since October 16, the museum has been undergoing a trial operation of some of its sections. Starting last February, the museum began applying its new official visiting hours, welcoming guests year-round from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It also offers evening visits on Saturdays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
