Today, at Cairo International Airport, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the First Lady Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, received President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and his spouse, Mrs. Emine Erdoğan.

President El-Sisi and the First Lady accompanied the distinguished guests of Egypt to Al-Ittihadiya Palace, where the official welcoming ceremony took place, followed by the holding of bilateral talks.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the welcoming ceremony at Al-Ittihadiya Palace included a cavalry lineup, a 21-gun salute, the honor guard rendering the salute, and the playing of the national anthems of Egypt and Türkiye. A commemorative photograph was then taken of the two presidents and their spouses.

President El-Sisi and President Erdoğan held a bilateral meeting. Then, the two leaders co-chaired the second meeting of the Egypt–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The meeting reviewed developments in bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields, particularly trade and investment. Additionally, the two sides discussed recent developments in regional issues of mutual concern, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip and the Middle East, as well as conditions in Sudan, Somalia, and the Horn of Africa region.

Following the talks, the two presidents signed the joint statement of the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. In addition, a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the two countries in the fields of military cooperation, trade and investment, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, social protection, youth and sports, and plant quarantine and veterinary services.
