Egypt is set for a noticeable shift in weather starting Friday, March 27, 2026, as temperatures climb following a period of turbulent conditions. Meteorologists predict a rise of around 4°C, with southern regions expected to exceed 30°C.
Despite the warming trend during the day, officials warn that nights and early mornings will remain cold, advising residents to dress appropriately. Intermittent winds are also expected in Greater Cairo, the northern coastal areas, and the Nile Delta, occasionally increasing in intensity.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Aal, former head of Egypt’s Meteorological Authority, explained that recent rainfall was unusual for this season. “Early spring often resembles winter, but this year’s winter was warmer than usual with lighter rainfall. These fluctuations reflect broader climate changes affecting Egypt and the world,” he said.
Authorities emphasize that the combination of rising daytime temperatures and cool nights could catch many off guard, urging the public to stay informed as the weather shifts.
