Egypt is expected to see a temporary improvement in weather conditions before another round of rain arrives later in the week, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.

Manar Ghanem, a member of the authority’s media center, said conditions will gradually improve starting Sunday afternoon, with fewer clouds and longer periods of sunshine following recent instability that brought rain of varying intensity to northern governorates, Greater Cairo, and parts of Upper Egypt.

She noted that Monday will likely bring further stabilization across most parts of the country. However, this improvement is expected to be short-lived, as a new wave of rainfall is forecast to begin on Tuesday evening.

Rainfall is expected to peak on Wednesday and continue into Thursday morning, reflecting the typically volatile nature of spring weather in Egypt, a season known for rapid swings between stable and unstable conditions.

Temperatures are also set to fluctuate noticeably in the coming days. Highs in Cairo are expected to reach around 23 degrees Celsius on Sunday, rising to between 27 and 28 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday. Despite warmer daytime conditions, nights will remain relatively cold, with increased wind activity making it feel cooler across many areas.

Ghanem warned residents not to be misled by the temporary improvement in weather, advising against switching fully to lighter clothing to avoid catching colds.

She also urged drivers to remain cautious on roads, particularly where rainwater may accumulate and increase the risk of accidents. In addition, she emphasized the need to follow weather updates closely, as conditions can change rapidly during this time of year.
