Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended the graduation ceremony of the third batch of imams from the Ministry of Awqaf, the “Imam Hassan Al-Attar Class,” from the Egyptian Military Academy. The ceremony was held at Al-Safwa Hall at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Capital.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that upon President El-Sisi’s arrival, he was received by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Dr. Usama Al-Azhari and a number of ministers.
President El-Sisi unveiled commemorative plaque marking the inauguration of Al-Safwa Hall at the Egyptian Military Academy. The President then listened to a detailed briefing on the hall delivered by Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Walid Aref.
The ceremony included a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by the Director of the Egyptian Military Academy Major General Mohamed Salah El-Turki. This was followed by a presentation made by the Head of the Academy’s Civilian Courses Branch on the training status of the third batch of the Ministry of Religious Endowments imams, the “Imam Hassan Al-Attar Class.” A documentary film summarizing the batch’s research project was also screened, along with a French-language summary and a film on the research certification.
The ceremony also featured a poetry recital by the senior-most trainee, followed by a documentary on the course’s success report. The graduation results were then announced, and the graduates took the graduation oath. Young Mohamed El-Qalaji subsequently performed a religious song.
Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Dr. Usama Al-Azhari delivered a speech on the occasion, stressing the importance of preparing a new generation of preachers who are academically, physically, and nationally qualified. Dr. Al-Azhari praised the continued support provided by President El-Sisi in this regard to help build a well-balanced national character.
Following this, President El-Sisi invited the top ten graduates of the course to the stage to congratulate them personally. The President also directed that the possibility of further qualifying them through postgraduate studies, including the potential for sending them on educational missions abroad.
The ceremony concluded with the playing of the national anthem.
President El-Sisi toured the main dining hall and the VIP lounge at Al-Safwa Hall at the Egyptian Military Academy.
