Egypt Daily News – Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met today, Tuesday, with Vincent Clerc, CEO of the Danish company A.P. Moller-Maersk, in the presence of Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Ambassador Mohamed Negm, Egyptian Ambassador to Switzerland.
This came on the sidelines of his participation on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, within the activities of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, “Davos 2025.”
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly appreciated the strong and growing cooperation between the company and the Egyptian government represented by the Suez Canal Authority, especially within the framework of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which achieves the goal of developing services in sea ports, noting the important results of the state visit carried out by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to Denmark, last December, witnessed a meeting with the Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors to enhance cooperation and consider increasing the volume of its business in Egypt.
The Prime Minister pointed out some of the negative impacts that developments in the Red Sea region have on navigation security, expressing his aspiration to achieve security and stability in the Red Sea region, which will help return navigation to normal, in a way that serves the global trade movement.
The Prime Minister also expressed Egypt’s aspiration for the continuation of the ongoing developments to achieve stability in the region, pointing in this regard to the success of the efforts of the Egyptian state, in cooperation with partners in the State of Qatar and the United States of America, in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which took effect as of the first daym yesterday, stressing the continuation of Egypt’s efforts to preserve the gains of the ceasefire, and following up on the various stages of implementing its provisions, in addition to working to begin reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip, and completing efforts related to the access of humanitarian aid and relief materials to the residents of the Strip.
For his part, the CEO of the Danish company, A.P. Moller-Maersk, confirmed that they are following with interest these positive developments in the region, expressing his hope that efforts will continue to achieve security and stability in the region, which will reflect positively on the security of maritime navigation.
During the meeting, a discussion took place about efforts to expand the use of green hydrogen in the field of maritime transport, and the impact of this matter – along with various types of new and renewable energies – on facing the challenge of climate change.
