During the meeting, President El-Sisi delivered the following speech:
Your Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan,
I am delighted to be in the United Republic of Tanzania, and I wish to express my deep appreciation for the Egyptian–Tanzanian business community, which has successfully played an active role in recent years in strengthening the partnership between our two countries, reflecting the solidity of our ties and our broad shared interests.
I highlight our fruitful discussions today and the practical outcomes achieved in the fields of trade and investment, which we hope will move forward to the stage of actual project implementation.
Today, we witnessed the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding between ministers from both sides, and agreed to advance in the implementation of joint projects in agriculture and livestock.
In this context, I have instructed the Chief of the President’s Bureau to coordinate directly with his Tanzanian counterpart to follow up on the implementation of what has been agreed upon, and to establish clear mechanisms to translate these understandings into tangible projects.
We also agreed on projects to develop ports, maritime and rail connectivity, and logistics zones, as well as in roads and infrastructure to facilitate trade flows and cargo transport, leveraging Tanzania’s strategic location.
We also agreed to cooperate in technology, science, and the exchange of human expertise, thereby advancing development and economic integration between our two countries.
I emphasized the pivotal role of the private sector in driving investment relations, and instructed the relevant ministers to ensure continuous follow‑up on the agreed projects, to overcome any obstacles they may face, and to provide the necessary support so that the outcomes of the Business Forum are transformed into actual investments and genuine development partnerships.
I affirm that economic relations between Egypt and Tanzania are built on promising foundations, and we rely on the role of the private sector in both countries to strengthen these ties, establish projects that generate added value, and open new markets that support the goals of development and prosperity for the brotherly peoples of Egypt and Tanzania.
During the meeting, representatives of the business communities in both countries welcomed the call to bolster bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania to serve the common interests of both sides, through expanding their existing projects across various sectors. They also affirmed their commitment to strengthening communication between private‑sector representatives in the two countries, in order to elevate bilateral economic relations to broader horizons.
