Egypt Daily News – Palestinian media released Thursday evening, scenes from the release of the prisoner Zakaria Al -Zubaidi, whose name was associated with the escape from the Israeli “Gilboa” prison, according to the exchange deal between Israel and “Hamas”.

Al -Zubaidi, who was one of the activists of the “Fatah” movement, was released in the framework of the third batch of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners between Israel and the Hamas movement.

An Israeli newspaper said earlier Thursday that the Israeli army would prevent the Palestinian prisoner Zakaria Al-Zubaidi from returning to the Jenin camp in the occupied West Bank after he was released in the exchange.

The newspaper “Israel Today” said: “Although he will be able to reach its hometown in Jenin, the Israeli army will prevent him from entering the Jenin refugee camp, as the fighting has been going on for more than a week.”

It added: “It can be assumed that the reason for the ban is the desire to prevent a person representing the symbol of the armed struggle in Israel from entering the wasps nest where the Israeli army is trying to eliminate the Jenin battalion,” as it put it.

The Israeli army arrested Al-Zubaidibi in 2019, and a senior Israeli intelligence official described him as “the street cat that fell in the trap.”

Al -Zubaidi succeeded in escaping from his cell through a tunnel with 5 of his comrades in captivity from the Israeli Gilboa prison on September 6, 2021, in an operation that observers described as “legendary” days before his arrest.

On January 19, the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel, by Qatar, Egypt and the United States began, and the agreement consists of 3 stages of 42 days, during which negotiation is negotiated to start a second and third stage to end the war.
