Egypt Daily News – The Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, stated that transitioning to the “next day” in Gaza depends on two key conditions: the disarmament of Gaza and the surrender of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
In a press statement, the minister explained that this is the only way to ensure stability in the region. He added, “We can achieve the conditions for the next day in Gaza either through diplomatic solutions or military action, and we are prepared for both options to guarantee Israeli security.”
Sa’ar affirmed that the war in Gaza will not stop until all hostages held by armed factions in the enclave are released.
As many as 33 hostages are to be released in the first phase, which lasts 42 days. In the second stage of the deal, Hamas is supposed to release the remaining hostages, in exchange for hundreds more prisoners, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent end to the fighting.
In response, Hamas’ spokesman Hazem Qassem had previously dismissed Israel’s conditions as “ridiculous psychological warfare.” He asserted that the resistance will neither withdraw from Gaza nor disarm, emphasizing that any future arrangements for the Strip must be reached through national consensus.
