Trump and Starmer

Egypt Daily News – Former U.S. President Donald Trump met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House, where he dismissed the idea that the British would need assistance in Ukraine against Russia.

A journalist asked Trump, “If British forces in Ukraine were maintaining peace and came under attack from Russia, would you help them?” Trump responded, “If the British people were in Ukraine and were attacked—you know, I have always found that the British don’t need much help. They take care of themselves very well.”

He continued, “The British have been great soldiers, with a great army, and they can take care of themselves. But if they needed help, I would always be with the British, okay? I would always be with them. But they don’t need help. Look at their history.”

Trump then turned to the British Prime Minister and asked, “You’ve done very well over the years, haven’t you?”

Starmer responded, “We have. I am very proud of our country, but we have always supported each other between our two nations. That’s why I believe this is the greatest alliance for prosperity and security the world has ever seen. Whenever it was necessary, we have fully supported each other.”

Trump then asked, “Could you take on Russia by yourselves?” prompting laughter from Starmer and those present in response to the question.
