Egypt Daily News – Egypt has expressed its rejection of any attempts that threaten the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan, including the formation of a parallel government.

Egypt affirmed in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today that the formation of a parallel government would further complicate the situation in Sudan, hinder ongoing efforts to unify the visions of Sudanese political forces, and worsen the humanitarian crisis.

Egypt called on all Sudanese parties to prioritize the country’s national interests and engage positively in launching an inclusive political process without exclusion or external interference.

Last week, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), along with political forces and armed movements in Sudan, signed a political charter in Nairobi, Kenya, to form a parallel government.

The charter aims to establish a “Government of Peace and Unity” in areas controlled by the RSF and its allied forces.

The Sudanese government firmly rejected the move to form a parallel government and, in response to Nairobi hosting the meeting, summoned its ambassador to Kenya, Kamal Jabara, for consultations.
