Egypt Daily News – Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, praised Egypt on Thursday for proposing a plan to rebuild Gaza, describing it as a “first goodwill gesture” from the Egyptians, according to Sky News.

Witkoff emphasized that “further discussions on this plan are necessary,” while acknowledging that it represents a positive start.

Egypt has announced an ambitious plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip, with an estimated cost of $53 billion, supported by full Arab backing and coordinated with international entities.

The plan aims to reconstruct the war-ravaged territory while ensuring that no form of forced displacement of residents takes place.

According to the proposed plan, the project will be carried out in two main phases: the first is the “early recovery” phase, lasting six months, followed by the “reconstruction” phase, which will span five years.

During the first phase, an estimated 50 million tons of debris will be cleared, temporary housing units will be installed, and 60,000 partially damaged housing units will be restored.
