Egypt Daily News – On behalf of President Sisi, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, met on Friday with Tunisian President Kais Saied during his visit to Tunisia. During the meeting, he delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Tunisian counterpart.
The message addressed the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

Historic ties and strong relations between Egypt and Tunisia
Minister Abdel Aty praised the historic relations and deep fraternal ties that bind Egypt and Tunisia, highlighting the recent significant progress in their bilateral relations. He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to further develop cooperation and enhance coordination in various fields, in line with presidential directives, for the benefit of both peoples.
He also expressed Egypt’s anticipation for hosting the 18th session of the Joint Higher Committee in Cairo, to be chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries. He praised the outcomes of the 6th session of the Joint Trade and Industry Committee, chaired by the Ministers of Trade from both countries, held in Tunisia on April 15–16, 2025. The session is expected to contribute positively to advancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia.
Discussion of key Arab issues
The meeting also covered major issues in the Arab region, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront. Minister Abdel Aty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to resume the implementation of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, aiming to bring calm and restore the flow of humanitarian aid into the strip.
The discussions also touched on the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction with the presence of Palestinians on their land, as well as the upcoming moves to support the plan with international partners.
Additionally, the meeting addressed developments in Libya, Sudan, and Syria, and Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support regional security and stability.
