Egypt Daily News – President El-Sisi took part today in the military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, held in Red Square, Moscow. The event was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and several world leaders.
Following the parade, President El-Sisi also joined a luncheon hosted by President Putin in honor of the attending heads of state.
During his visit, President El-Sisi extended warm congratulations to President Putin on Victory Day, expressing his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality received. He highlighted Egypt’s continued support for Russia in commemorating its historic victories and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Russian people during World War II in the fight against Nazism.
President El-Sisi underscored the deep-rooted and respectful relations between Egypt and Russia, stating that the visit presents an opportunity to enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations across multiple fields. He reaffirmed Egypt’s keenness to expand cooperation with Russia to serve the interests of both peoples and contribute to regional stability.
On the sidelines of the celebration, President El-Sisi held friendly discussions with several participating world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping. The meeting was marked by mutual appreciation and a warm exchange of views, reflecting the strength of Egypt’s international partnerships.
For his part, President Putin praised the development of Russian-Egyptian relations, describing them as clearly progressing. He emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is now broad and deep across many sectors.
Putin noted that trade exchange between Russia and Egypt rose by 30% over the past year and reaffirmed Egypt’s position as Russia’s most important trading partner in Africa, especially within the BRICS framework.
