Hassan El-Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with Omar Al-Refaie, Director of Government Affairs at Apple for the Middle East and Pakistan, to explore investment opportunities for Apple in the Egyptian market and discuss ways to enhance the company’s presence in the country. The meeting aligns with the ministry’s vision of attracting high-value investments that support the national economy and strengthen the technology sector.
El-Khatib emphasized Egypt’s importance as a strategic investment destination for Apple, noting that the company’s interest in expanding its presence reflects its confidence in Egypt’s economic potential and strategic location. He pointed out that Apple’s expansion would offer promising opportunities to grow the local market and create tech-related jobs.
He added that Egypt has demonstrated strong capabilities in contact center services and training, making it an attractive environment for global companies like Apple. The country’s growing digital infrastructure and availability of skilled talent offer Apple a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
El-Khatib also highlighted that Apple’s contact and training centers in Egypt are among the best in the Middle East, providing an advanced environment for developing local talent and skills. This reflects the professionalism of global firms in engaging with local human resources. He affirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting and expanding such initiatives.
As part of the discussions, El-Khatib officially invited Apple to establish an authorized Apple Store in Egypt to enhance customer experience and offer the company’s products directly in the local market. He stated that the ministry is fully prepared to provide the necessary support and facilitation to ensure the success of this project, which would strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for technology and innovation.
He stressed the importance of leveraging modern technology to support economic and social development and noted that cooperation with Apple represents a successful model for attracting tech investments that align with global market demands.
The minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting Apple’s presence and expansion in Egypt and to encouraging initiatives that deepen collaboration in both technology and talent development.
From his side, Omar Al-Refaie emphasized Apple’s strong interest in the Egyptian market, describing it as a key gateway for the company’s expansion in Africa and the Middle East.
