Egypt Daily News – EgyptAir has signed an agreement with global aerospace giant Airbus to acquire six new A350-900 aircraft, bringing the total number of this model ordered by the airline to 16.

The deal was signed during the 2025 Paris Air Show, which is taking place from June 16 to 22. EgyptAir Chairman Ahmed Adel stated, “We are continuously working to develop our fleet and provide a more comfortable and sustainable travel experience,” noting that this collaboration with Airbus is an extension of a long-standing, distinguished relationship between the two parties.

Adel added that the airline has been part of numerous successful deals and partnerships in the aviation industry, with the latest being this newly announced agreement. He emphasized that this reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to acquiring modern aircraft with high operational and environmental efficiency.

He also said that this move will enable the airline to meet growing demand for long-haul travel and aligns with EgyptAir’s plans to expand its route network over the next five years. It also supports the Egyptian civil aviation sector’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote a more sustainable aviation future.

On the Airbus side, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales, stated that this second order from EgyptAir for Airbus A350 aircraft demonstrates the high value this model offers.

He added, “We are fully confident that the Airbus A350 will be a cornerstone in EgyptAir’s growth and continued success, effectively supporting its goals for sustainability and emissions reduction.”

It’s worth noting that the Airbus A350 family is one of the latest and most efficient wide-body aircraft in the world. It has set new standards for long-haul flights and can fly up to 9,700 miles non-stop. The aircraft consumes less fuel and produces 25% fewer emissions compared to the previous generation of aircraft.

The A350-900 features Airbus’s signature “Airspace” cabin, offering spacious overhead storage, wide seats, high ceilings, and calm ambient lighting—ensuring maximum passenger comfort. The aircraft can operate using a blend of up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and Airbus aims to have all its aircraft capable of flying on 100% SAF by 2030.
